Banh Mi
…Just tried the fairly new Vietnamese cafe’ on Magazine called Magasin. I had the grilled pork Banh Mi ( a baguette with french butter, julienned vegetables, cilantro and jalapenos) . M. had the grilled pork Bun ( rice noodles served with dipping sauce, lettuce, basil, mint, lime, bean sprouts and peanuts. We split a grilled shrimp Goi Cuon (spring roll). The food was great and the prices were even better. You should check this place out the next time you are shopping on Magazine Street!!

Not All Rayon Is Created Equal:

I just want to scream!! I just washed a 100% rayon dress and it shrunk about 5x and now has a hole in it. The rayon pieces I have purchased lately have all been hand washable. Although this dress is more than a few years old, I assumed this one would be too. WRONG!!
I learned that if the tag says dry clean only. Dry clean only. If it is marked as washable,

make sure you wash it alone and be very gentle with the fabric as rayon is very fragile when it is wet.

When life gives you grapefruits…

My friend Kristy graciously gave me a wonderful bag of grapefruits the other day. I wanted to make a sea breeze but was out of cranberry juice. I put this together and it was a tasty treat. So, when life (or Kristy ) gives you grapefruits I recommend this:
crushed ice; vodka; fresh squeezed grapefruit juice; lemon-lime soda; grapefruit bitters. I just need a name for it…

I’m so happy about Tangerine being chosen as the color of the year by Pantone. Fairy has some very exciting styles on the way for spring and summer in this attention- getting color. I love this description from Pantone’s 2011 press release:” …Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.”
It makes me feel optimistic about 2012. Tangerine is Awesome!!
